Supply chain & sourcing

While Thistlerock Mead Company produces just over half of the honey we use in our meads, we prioritize sourcing the remainder of our honeys as well as fresh fruits, botanicals, and other supplies from local farms and protected classes. For us, this means leveraging our purchasing power to provide steady economic support to emerging markets and/or communities at greatest risk from climate change, including refugee-led and supporting organizations, as well as women-, veteran-, and BIPOC-owned businesses, and supporting our colleagues in the beverage and hospitality industry to do the same. Thistlerock Mead Company partners with organizations such as the World Honey Exchange in order to reduce emission associated with the logistics and transportation of honey from our partners in emerging markets.
