Deep within West Virginia’s Appalachian Mountains, reside prestine lavender fields that are healing land once devasted by prolific coal mines. Since 2019, Appalachian Botanical Co. have been achieving what’s called a “triple bottom line” - a business model where positive and sustainable impacts on the environment, people, and profit are valued equally.

Appalachian Botanical Co. not only restores cleared mountaintops through sustainable agriculture but they do this while providing flexible employment to people who, due to substance use issues, prior incarceration, lack of transportation, and/or lack of a high school diplomas, need a hand up, overcoming barriers to employment through training and assistance for long term security.

You can find Appalachian Botanical Co’s botanical buds in our signature “Lavender Fields” hand-crafted metheglin mead, as well as a number of lavender-based aromatherapy, culinary, and grooming products at our Tavern and Farm Shop.
