At Thistlerock we are deeply proud of our partners, especially when we find partners whose mission’s align so well with our own. This is why we are so delighted to team up with our friends at 734 Coffee. Our coffeemel, or coffee-based mead, is handcrafted with special beans that are grown and roasted with love by displaced South Sudanese farmers in Gambela, Ethiopia.

734 was founded by Richmond, Virginia-based social entrepreneur and former refugee, Manyang Reath Kher, as a vehicle for change, or in his words, “to improve lives while improving our business.” 734 Coffee sources Sudanese and Ethiopian coffee beans that are grown organically and sun-dried to preserve their prime flavor and quality. Not only are 734 Coffee’s beans ethically sourced through fair trade practices, but 80% of profits made are recycled back into scholarships and educational programs to further support Sudanese refugees in Gambela, Ethiopia. We love these beans, the people who grow them, and this amazing company!
